Simulation / CAE Engineer

The Simulation / CAE Engineer is responsible for developing, validating, and optimizing vehicle systems and components using CAE methodologies to ensure technical feasibility, performance, durability, and compliance with TRATON Group standards and product requirements.

Develop and deliver high‑quality simulation models and validated results to support engineering decisions.

Perform structural durability analyses and interpret results to support robust design recommendations.

Analyze and process Data Acquisition (DAQ) signals, including filtering, validation, and interpretation.

Perform correlation between numerical simulations and DAQ/test data, ensuring representativeness and consistency.

Ensure accuracy, reliability, and fidelity of simulation and correlation activities.

Provide technical support to project engineers throughout all development phases, addressing varying levels of complexity.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of simulation, correlation methods, and analysis tools.

Apply topological and topographical optimization techniques to support lightweight, cost‑effective, and structurally efficient designs.

Ensure that simulation and optimization results are compatible with manufacturing constraints and industrial processes.

• Recommended Bachelor´s degree in Mechanical / Automotive / Aeronautical / Naval Engineering or other engineering degrees with a strong focus on calculations and physics.* A Master’s degree in a related engineering field is a plus.* Strong background in FE‑based durability analysis, including stress, vibration, and fatigue assessments, preferably in the automotive or heavy‑vehicle industry.* Experience with DAQ signal analysis and simulation‑to‑test correlation.* Proficiency with Altair tools, including OptiStruct, with hands‑on experience in topological and topographical optimization.* Hands‑on experience with Abaqus and nCode for durability and fatigue analysis.* Knowledge of manufacturing processes (e.g. casting, stamping, welding, machining, assemblies) and their impact on structural performance and design feasibility.* Good understanding of vehicle development and processes* Strong coordination and planning skills in complex, cross‑functional environments* Structured, proactive, and solution‑oriented way of working* Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders* Experience in project management and development of technical documentation* Strong analytical mindset and problem‑solving skills.* Fluency in English is mandatory.* Knowledge of programming or scripting languages (e.g.

Python, Matlab) is an advantage.
